April Moyer, Ph.D.

April is a postdoctoral fellow. She earned her B.S. in psychology from Iowa State University and her M.A. in developmental psychology from San Francisco State University. She earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from Clark University in clinical psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Child and Adolescent Services at UCSF/ZSFGH with a major rotation at the Child Trauma Research Program. 

April grew up in the midwest and has lived on both coasts, though she feels at home in San Francisco. Her predoctoral training included work in outpatient psychotherapy clinics, primary care mental health, and a private practice where she conducted neuropsychological evaluations with children, adolescents and adults.

April’s clinical interests include assessment, parent-child relationships, families formed through adoption, social skills training, and school consultation/collaboration. She also has research and teaching interests and has co-authored publications on adoption, LGBTQ parenting and families, foster care, and school-family relationships.

April joined our team at Seesaw in the Fall of 2018. She provides evaluation, therapy, parent coaching, and teaches social emotional classes and playgroups. Her clinical supervisor is Dr. Sabrina Gabel.
