Maya is a Practicum Student at Seesaw. She earned her B.A. in psychology and anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is pursuing her doctoral studies in clinical or counseling psychology. Maya has worked with young children to teens as a research assistant, camp counselor, and an English teacher in Japan. A first generation Chinese-Puerto Rican-Spanish-American and proud Hapa, Maya has a unique, multicultural perspective (and heritage) that is an important influence in her life. Maya is also a jazz singer and songwriter in a local band. Her blend of skills and interests are expressed in her therapeutic and educational work with youth and families.
Maya joined our team at Seesaw in summer of 2018. She assists our therapists in social emotional classes and works on quality improvement and community outreach projects.
