Group Therapy
We provide peer group therapy for children and adolescents 5 to 18 years of age.
In group therapy, we focus on building social emotional skills and fostering psychological strengths.
Our group therapy approach is tailored to individual therapy goals and facilitated by a therapist with 2 to 3 same-aged peers. Peers are carefully matched based on age, strengths, and therapy goals.
We meet weekly and our sessions provide natural opportunities for young participants to build and practice skills with peers.
Our therapy approach is skills-based, goal-oriented, and brief. The therapist helps participants practice tools for flexibility, emotion regulation, perspective taking, distress tolerance, anxiety and anger management, friendship building, self awareness, conflict resolution, confidence, and assertiveness.
During each session, the therapist guides and models prosocial skills in a playful, relaxed, and naturalistic setting. We teach social emotional skills creatively and engage in a variety of developmentally-appropriate and fun interactive exercises.
Human interaction is essential and group therapy is offered in-person only.
